Make a paracord bracelet at the Malibu Library meeting room from 4 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. For teens ages 13 to 17. A Paracord bracelet is a bracelet woven out of paracord. Paracord bracelets are also known as survival bracelets, 550 cord bracelets, or parachute cord bracelets and are considered a survival tool.

Governor Gavin Newsom signed the state's newest budget last week, and in it was the funding for the Riverside treasure.

Striving towards this collective conservation impact within various Aquarium efforts has required intentional engagement and partnership-centered approaches. Residents, partners, and stakeholders need to have meaningful opportunities to center their lived experiences and apply their expertise to drive that collective impact. One of the main locations in Baltimore that we engage in, that has exemplified this wholistic conservation approach, is Masonville Cove, an urban green space nestled between the communities of Brooklyn and Curtis Bay on the Middle Branch of the Patapsco River in South Baltimore.

JESSICA GODINEZ: Rekindling The Latino Community’s Connection With Nature

Jessica Godinez grew up in Richmond, Virginia where afternoons in her mother’s garden became some of her most beloved memories. Her mother encouraged her family to spend time outside, and nature became home for Godinez and her family. Even though Godinez spent most of her childhood playing in the backyard and at local neighborhood parks, she didn’t realize how many barriers of access to conservation and outdoor recreation existed for her community until she took an internship with the United States Forest Service in 2018.
