United in Impact: Navigating Adventures with NPS RTCA and Latino Projects

Written by: Rebecca Aviña

Hey everyone,

Rebecca here, and I'm thrilled to reconnect with you for another glimpse into my journey as the Communications and Graphics Fellow. These past couple of months have been a whirlwind of growth and learning, particularly with my involvement in the selection process for NPS RTCA projects. Today, I'm excited to share some additional insights and experiences, including my eagerness to dive into a Latino and Hispanic community project.

As I've delved deeper into my role with NPS RTCA, I've had the privilege of learning about the technical support they provide to communities across the Midwest in the past. From assisting with park revitalization efforts to promoting environmental education programs, NPS RTCA plays a vital role in empowering communities and fostering positive change. It's been incredibly rewarding to be part of this process and to see the tangible impact of these projects on the ground.

In addition to my work with NPS RTCA, I'm excited to share that I'll be further involved in a Latino and Hispanic community project in the coming months. This opportunity to engage directly with Latino and Hispanic communities aligns perfectly with my personal and professional interests, and I'm eager to explore how I can contribute to this important initiative.

Reflecting on the journey so far, I'm filled with gratitude for the experiences and opportunities that have come my way. From crafting signage packages to assisting with project selection, each day brings new challenges and learning opportunities. And through it all, I've been inspired by the passion and dedication of the individuals and organizations I've had the privilege to work with.

But perhaps one of the most enriching aspects of my fellowship experience has been the pleasure of working alongside other fellows as part of a cohesive team. Despite the geographical distances that separate us, we've come together as a unit, supporting and uplifting one another every step of the way. Whether it's sharing ideas, providing feedback, or simply lending a listening ear, the camaraderie among fellow interns and fellows has been nothing short of inspiring.

As we continue to navigate the complexities of our respective roles, I find comfort in knowing that I'm not alone in this journey. Together, we're stronger, more resilient, and better equipped to overcome any challenges that may come our way. And as we collaborate towards common goals and aspirations, I'm reminded of the power of unity and the importance of community in driving positive change.

Looking ahead, I'm excited to see where this journey takes us as a team. From supporting NPS RTCA projects to engaging with Latino and Hispanic communities, there's boundless potential for growth, learning, and impact. And through it all, I'm grateful to be part of such an incredible team, united in our shared mission to make a difference in the world.

Thank you for joining me on this adventure. I can't wait to share more with you in the days and weeks to come.

Until next time,

Rebecca :)
