Armando Porras

Growing up Armando was a kid that enjoyed being outside and getting dirty. As he got older his passion grew as he discovered outdoor activities like fishing, camping, and hiking. Young Armando saw the exploitation of the Environment and realized that many individuals only see the environment as a potential for economic growth. Coming into college, six years ago, Armando was upset and felt hopeless for planet earth. It has been a while since then and many experiences at different jobs or in class, have led him to not give up. Armando has many years of experience in field of engineering, specifically construction. He doesn’t have much experience in environmental/water engineering, other than the educational courses at Sacramento State, and a job position at STORC (Sustainability Technology Optimization Research Center). The work at STORC is what Armando is most proud of, and what helped him realized that conservation and sustainability is his true passion.
