Category: News Releases

Hispanic Access is pleased to announce the addition of Amalia Villalobos as the new Finance Manager. She will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing financial activities related to federal grants, contracts, and funding for the organization.

“It brings me great joy to join the Hispanic Access team,” said Villalobos. “Having migrated from Mexico and being a first-generation college graduate, I welcome the opportunity to help other Latinos who are facing the same challenges I faced.”

Villalobos will develop, implement, and monitor budgets for other federal-funded programs or projects as necessary, collaborate with program managers and project leads to ensure budgets align with project goals and objectives, ensure compliance with federal regulations, guidelines, and reporting requirements for all federal grants and contracts, and conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to federal funding.

“Amalia has a deep understanding of federal regulations and compliance and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,” said Maite Arce, president and CEO of Hispanic Access. “She has the life experience, educational and work background, and passion, to help us improve our financial oversight, which will allow us to better serve Latino communities.”

Villalobos has a BA in Sociology and an MS in Business Management with a specialization in Human Resources and over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Initially, her responsibilities included providing direct student services, parent engagement, and conflict resolution, but over the past seven years, the responsibilities have shifted to providing financial oversight and support for several programs receiving federal grants, state funding, and donations.
